SunCycle
El Paso Bike Share Program
The CRRMA is proud to bring SunCycle to El Paso. Bike sharing is a great way of getting around your neighborhood, city and county! It’s affordable, clean and simple. Plus, it’s good for your health, your pocket, and the environment. SunCycle is El Paso’s own B-cycle program, a next generation bike-sharing program. It is a zero-hassle, zero-emissions way to get around town. This program meets the transportation, health, and environmental needs of our communities.
In September of 2015, the CRRMA launched SunCycle – El Paso’s first bike share program. The 2015 launch included 80 bikes and eight stations linking downtown El Paso and the UTEP campus.
In 2016, the SunCycle program expanded through the purchase of an additional 80 bikes and placement of seven additional stations.
Through November 2016, more than 16,000 rides were taken, which accounted for more than 84,000 miles ridden. These rides accounted for almost 80,000 pounds of carbon offset and more than 3,300,000 calories burned by riders.
