The Loop 375 at FM 659 (Zaragoza) Project (Identified as Project #5 of the 2008 Comprehensive Mobility Plan) provides direct access to Zaragoza Road from Loop 375, thereby relieving congestion at the Montwood and related intersections. The project included the design and construction of two direct connectors between Loop 375 and Zaragoza Road, allowing users of I-10 to seamlessly travel directly to and from Zaragoza.
This project was a partnership between the CRRMA, TxDOT, and the City of El Paso. The CRRMA provided funding necessary for TxDOT to complete the construction of this regionally significant project, using the incremental revenues generated from the City’s Transportation Reinvestment Zone No. 2. On November 22, 2013, the direct connectors at Zaragoza and Joe Battle were officially open to the public.
